Your Data Rights
This guide explains your rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Quick Access
You can exercise most of your data rights directly from your account settings:
- Export Your Data: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data and click "Download My Data"
- Update Email Preferences: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data to manage your email preferences
- Delete Your Account: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data and click "Delete My Account"
GDPR Rights (European Union)
Right of Access (Article 15)
You have the right to access all personal data we hold about you. You can download a complete export of your data at any time from your account settings.
How to exercise: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Download My Data
Right to Rectification (Article 16)
You can correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data at any time.
How to exercise: Update your information in Settings → Account Settings
Right to Erasure (Article 17)
You can request deletion of your personal data. We will permanently delete your account and all associated data upon your request.
How to exercise: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete My Account
Note: This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to export your data before deleting your account if you want to keep a copy.
Right to Restrict Processing (Article 18)
You can request that we limit how we process your data in certain circumstances. Contact us if you wish to exercise this right.
Right to Data Portability (Article 20)
You can receive your data in a machine-readable format and transfer it to another service.
How to exercise: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Download My Data
Right to Object (Article 21)
You can object to processing of your data for marketing purposes. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time in your account settings.
How to exercise: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Email Preferences
Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making (Article 22)
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or significantly affects you.
CCPA/CPRA Rights (California)
Right to Know
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (if any).
How to exercise:
- Review our Privacy Policy for details about data collection
- Download your data export from Settings → Privacy & Data
Right to Delete
You can request deletion of your personal information. We will delete your account and all associated data upon your request.
How to exercise: Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete My Account
Right to Opt-Out of Sale
We do not sell your personal information. If this changes in the future, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. You will receive the same quality of service regardless of whether you exercise your rights.
Right to Correct
You can correct inaccurate personal information at any time.
How to exercise: Update your information in Settings → Account Settings
Response Time
We will respond to your data rights requests within:
- GDPR: Within one month (may be extended to two months for complex requests)
- CCPA: Within 45 days (may be extended by an additional 45 days if necessary)
Most requests can be fulfilled immediately through the self-service tools in your account settings.
Verification
To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests. For account-related requests, you must be logged in to your account. For deletion requests, you must provide your password.
